Elderly Man Dies After Orange County Pedestrian Accident

Nick Hagali, 80, died Thursday night after injuries sustained in an Orange County pedestrian accident the day before.

The OC Register said that the Anaheim car accident occurred just before 9 a.m. on Brookhurst Street and Ball Road.

Hagali was halfway across Brookhurst when he was struck by a black Acura, Anaheim police said. He had been walking west about 100 yards north of the intersection when the collision happened.

Clothing and personal belongings, including a broken eyeglass were scattered across the street after the car accident. Police are investigating the pedestrian accident and the injured man was rushed to UCI Medical Center.

I would like to express my condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Hagali. My prayers are with them in their time of loss.

What To Ask If You Are In A Pedestrian Accident

According to the California Highway Patrol's Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 41 people were killed in pedestrian accidents in Orange County in 2007 while 779 others were injured. In Anaheim, six pedestrians were killed while 65 were injured during the same time period.

According to the police, there was no crosswalk where the man was walking. However, other details of the car collision have not yet been revealed. There are many questions to consider in any pedestrian or car accident.

For example, what were the traffic conditions at the time the car accident took place? What were the physical and mental conditions of the parties involved? Could the accident have been avoided if certain measures were in place?
