Three people, including two sheriff's deputies, were injured in a Los Angeles car accident after a patrol car ran into a minivan the night of November 26, 2009. According to a CBS news report, the Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies were responding to a call when their patrol car collided with a minivan that was making a turn at the intersection of Central Avenue and 84th Street in South Los Angeles. The impact from the collision sent the minivan crashing into an apartment complex while the squad car hit another vehicle. An unidentified man was hospitalized and is said to be in serious condition. The deputies were also injured, but in stable condition.

Four people sustained personal injuries in a San Francisco cable car accident on November 21, 2009, the San Jose Mercury News reports. The incident occurred the afternoon when the service was suddenly disrupted on the Powell Street portion of the Powell-Hyde historic cable car line, according to Muni officials. The cable car system is also operated by the San Francisco Municipal Railway or Muni as it is known. The conductor of the cable car, a gripman and two passengers were injured. But none of the injuries were life-threatening.

A man sustained major injuries in an Orange County car accident after he was thrown off his vehicle on to the sidewalk after colliding with another vehicle the afternoon of November 24, 2009. The Orange County Register reports that a black Chrysler Sebring traveling east on Broadway and a green Hyundai Elantra going south on Loara street entered the Anaheim intersection simultaneously. The front of the Chrysler hit the passenger side of the Hyundai. The Hyundai spun around and hit a traffic light on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Judith Septimus, 76, was killed in a Riverside car accident the morning of November 22, 2009 after her SUV crashed into a tree in Menifee. According to a CBS news report, Septimus was driving on the 215 Freeway at Scott Road when her SUV went off an exit ramp and struck a tree. She was transported to an area hospital where she died. Riverside County Sheriff's officials believe that this fatal accident may have been connected to a crash involving a Chevy Cavalier, which flipped over in the same area and caught fire around the same time.

Angel Kazanjian, 78, and her daughter Amral Yakoubian, 36, sustained major injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after they were hit by a car while crossing a street in a crosswalk the night of November 23, 2009. According to a news report in the Pasadena Star News, the accident occurred at Washington Boulevard and Bresee Avenue. The women were walking north to south on Washington Boulevard and were hit when they came into the eastbound lanes. The driver of the car that hit them was identified only as a 69-year-old Pasadena woman. She was uninjured. Kazanjian was listed in critical condition while Yakoubian sustained serious injuries.

Rees Boynton Skinner, 53, was killed in a San Diego car accident after another vehicle collided head-on with this pickup truck. According to a 10news report, the fatal accident occurred November 20, 2009, when 20-year-old Justin Jones lost control of his 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck . Jones veered directly into the path of Skinner's 2002 Ford F-150 near the Old Julian Highway intersection, California Highway Patrol officials said. Jones is apparently not licensed to drive. Skinner was trapped in his vehicle and died at the scene. Investigators also say Skinner may not have been wearing his seatbelt.

Two teenagers riding their bikes sustained injuries in a San Diego car accident the morning of November 18, 2009 after a driver swerved into their lane, North County Times reports. California Highway Patrol officials said the two boys -- ages 14 and 13 -- were riding westbound on Bear Valley Parkway in Escondido, California. They were both single-file in the bike lane, when a tan-colored SUV swerved directly in front of them. One of the boys veered to the right and struck the curb. The other boy ran into the cyclist ahead of him and got thrown off his bike.

Toyota Motor Corporation has offered to fix the accelerator pedals of up to 4 million cars in the United States, which are subject to the company's largest ever vehicle defect recall, a Kyodo news report states. Toyota has apparently reached an agreement with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which includes the Japanese auto maker's assurance to voluntarily repair the accelerator pedals. But it is not clear yet how Toyota will repair these pedals.

A 50-year-old woman sustained injuries in an Orange County car accident the afternoon of November 18, 2009 after a vehicle crashed into her living room. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, a 22-year-old man failed to negotiate a curve and crashed the car into the woman’s home located in the 5700 block of Warwick Circle in La Palma, California. Police said the woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries. It’s not clear how badly she was injured in this accident.

Six people were injured, two seriously, in a Los Angeles car accident the night of November 8, 2009 on the northbound Harbor Freeway south of the Santa Monica Freeway, the Daily Breeze reports. The collision involved two or more cars, but California Highway Patrol officials are still looking into what caused it. Six people were transported to area hospitals. One person is said to have suffered critical injuries and another was in serious condition. The other victims sustained minor injuries, officials said.

Angelina Bandino, 15, was killed and another victim was critically injured in a San Bernardino car accident the evening of November 17, 2009, the Victorville Daily Press reports. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Cottonwood Avenue near Mauna Loa Street in Hesperia, California. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department, Angelina was walking on the shoulder of Cottonwood Avenue with two other friends, when a pickup truck struck them. Emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene and airlifted the second victim to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries. Angelina and the other victim were walking legally on the shoulder of the road, within designated areas, according to preliminary findings. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department.

Two people have been injured in an Orange County car accident after a Jeep Cherokee collided with a bicycle on Santiago Canyon Road at Irvine Lake the morning of November 17, 2009. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the Jeep hit the bicyclist from behind and then rolled over several times. The driver of the Jeep is in critical condition and the bicyclist has been hospitalized with moderate injuries, according to Orange County fire officials who responded to the accident scene. Witnesses say the bicycle rider is extremely fortunate that he did not sustain major injuries, especially because he was not wearing a helmet.

Baron L. Mahling, 62, sustained critical injuries in an Orange County car accident after he veered into oncoming traffic and sideswiped another vehicle the afternoon of November 5, 2009. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Mahling was traveling east on Ellis Avenue in a gold 1996 Chevy Silverado at a high rate of speed, when he crossed into opposing lanes of traffic near Bushard Street and struck a 1998 Nissan Frontier truck driven by 31-year-old Todd B. A pedestrian was injured in a Portland car accident the morning of November 6, 2009 at the same city intersection where 23-year-old Lindsay Leonard was killed and 29-year-old Jessica Finlay was critically injured just days earlier. According to a news report in The Oregonian, the recent pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Southeast 80th Avenue and Foster Road. The condition of the injured victim is not available, but based on the news report, the victim was taken to the hospital "code 3," which means that the ambulance used both lights and sirens. Finlay still remains in critical condition, the report states.

Kasey Deckard, 36 was critically injured in a Portland car accident, which officials say, was caused by a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The Oregonian, the serious injury collision occurred the evening of November 4, 2009 when Deckard's car collided with a 2005 Toyota Camry driven by 24-year-old Diana Bunch. The accident occurred in the 4800 block of Highway 101 in the South Beach area of Newport. Bunch was apparently driving her car north on the southbound lane without headlights on. Deckard was trapped in his 1995 Geo Metro. He sustained internal injuries, fractured legs, arms and pelvis. He remains in critical condition. Bunch was uninjured and has been charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering and second-degree assault.

An elderly woman suffered serious head injuries in a San Diego car accident, after she was struck by an SUV while crossing the street in the city's Gaslamp Quarter, 10news reports. The woman was crossing southbound on E Street the morning of November 10, 2009 and police say she had the "walk" sign. The SUV made a left turn on E Street from southbound Sixth Avenue, striking her. She was taken to an area hospital with major head injuries. The 50-year-old male driver of the SUV was not arrested or cited pending a police investigation.

Isaac Hudson, 84, was killed in a San Francisco car accident the morning of November 11, 2009, according to a Bay City News report. The fatal car accident occurred at the intersection of Alemany Boulevard and Congdon Street near Highway 280. Hudson's car collided with another vehicle, but the three occupants of the other vehicle fled the scene of the accident on foot, witnesses to the accident told San Francisco police officials. Hudson was found inside his car and died at the scene. Police said two other parked cars were also struck as a result of the collision. However, no one else was injured.

A Cal State Long Beach student has sustained critical injuries in a Long Beach car accident after he was struck by vehicle while crossing the road, The Long Beach Press Telegram reports. The pedestrian was in a crosswalk at Seventh Street and West Campus Road when he was struck by a car the night of November 8, 2009. Long Beach police said the female driver initially started to drive away, but then stopped and called for help. The student was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The driver has not been arrested pending a police investigation.

A 23-year-old U.S. Marine was killed in a San Diego car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a car that turned left in front of him. According to a 10news report, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred the morning of November 7, 2009 when the driver of a Lexus sedan traveling east on Miramar Road made a left turn directly into the path of the young Marine's Yamaha motorcycle near Camino Ruiz. The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries although he was wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward in a local hospital.

Chris Drager, 32, sustained serious injuries in a Ventura car accident the night of November 1, 2009 after he was hit by a pickup truck while crossing a major thoroughfare in Oak View, California. According to a news report in the Ventura County Star, Drager was trying to get across North Ventura Avenue near Park Avenue when a truck driven by 65-year-old Antonio Bernal struck him. California Highway Patrol officials said Drager was transported to an area hospital for critical head injuries, cuts to his arms, legs and torso. Bernal and his two passengers were not hurt. CHP officials say Drager was not in a crosswalk when he was crossing Ventura Avenue. They also say Bernal was driving within the speed limit of 35 mph. He was not cited or arrested pending an investigation.

Taylor Marie Moss, 19, sustained critical injuries and is not expected to survive after a Los Angeles car accident involving a drunk driver who was going the wrong way on Highway 101 in Encino, the Ventura County Star reports. Hector J. Ortiz, 27, was apparently driving his car the wrong way on the northbound 101 near White Oak Avenue early morning on November 1, 2009 when he collided with Moss' car. Moss' two passengers were also injured and are said to be recovering at home. Ortiz has been charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and for driving under the influence causing death and injury.

Six people were injured in a Los Angeles car accident after an 87-year-old woman drove through the front of a restaurant in the 15200 block of Rosecrans Avenue in La Mirada, California, on October 30, 2009. According to a news report in the Whittier Daily News, Lurlene Bell told officials that she inadvertently put the car in drive instead of reverse and stepped on the gas pedal. Her Toyota Solara jumped over a concrete parking block, went over a sidewalk and crashed right through the Cabo Taco Baja Grill. One man apparently suffered a broken leg with possible internal injuries while other customers sustained minor injuries. The restaurant owner said there were about 16 people there at the time of the crash.

Police in Hesperia are looking for two hit-and-run drivers who they say critically injured an 18-year-old woman during a San Bernardino car accident the evening of October 30, 2009. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, the teen was riding a Honda 50 motorcycle when a dark-colored SUV crashed into her head-on near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Olive Street. The vehicle then dragged the woman about 100 feet before leaving the scene of the accident, San Bernardino County Sheriff's officials said.

According to a CBS news report, the 43-year-old woman was crossing the street in the 3700 block of Ocean View Boulevard when she was struck. She reportedly suffered a fractured leg and several broken bones in her face. Police officials have described the suspect vehicle as a black Nissan Altima with tinted rear windows. The car is also said to be missing part of its left side mirror.
