Los Angeles Car Accident Injures Pedestrian in Crosswalk
A 55-year-old woman was injured in a Los Angeles car accident after she was struck by a minivan while walking in a crosswalk. According to a report in the Glendale News-Press, the woman was walking north on Brand Boulevard at Randolph Street in Glendale the morning of September 20, 2010 when she was hit. She was thrown onto the hood of the vehicle and carried 25 to 30 feet from the point of impact. She sustained head, leg and hip injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver told police that he did not see the woman in the crosswalk because of the sun's glare. An investigation is ongoing.
I sympathize with the injured pedestrian in this case. I hope she has not suffered major injuries and pray that she makes a swift recovery.
