Hit-and-Run Car Accident in Orange County Injures Pedestrian

 Pedestrian Killed in Los Angeles Car Accident

A pedestrian was seriously injured in an Orange County car accident the evening of November 29, 2010. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury car accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Euclid Street in Santa Ana. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive. The driver did not stop and fled northbound on Euclid. The vehicle, described as a white sedan, was last seen passing 17th Street. Officials are not sure if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the accident. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver or vehicle is asked to call Santa Ana Police at 714-245-8201.

Four People Injured in Orange County Car Accident

Four people were injured in an Orange County car accident, which involved two vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury accident occurred on the 405 Freeway near Talbert Avenue in Fountain Valley the morning of November 26, 2010. California Highway Patrol officials say a Mercedes Benz was rear-ended by a Jeep Cherokee, which then rolled onto its roof. Three passengers in the Mercedes and one passenger in the Jeep were injured in the car accident. All the injured occupants were taken to an area hospital for treatment. An investigation is ongoing.

Accident North of Los Angeles Involving Crew of Firefighting Inmates Injures 12, Kills 2

A pregnant woman was injured in an Orange County car accident after the vehicle she was driving crashed into another car at an intersection. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury car accident occurred at the intersection of Manassero Street and La Palma Avenue in Anaheim the morning of November 22, 2010. A Mazda RX-8 and Toyota 4Runner SUV collided at the intersection. The 4Runner then struck and knocked down a pole. Christopher Stubendorf, 34, and his father Richard Stubendorf, 61 were seriously injured in a Bakersfield car accident on Highway 46. Three people, including two drivers and a pedestrian, were injured in a Los Angeles car accident after two vehicles collided at an intersection. Are red light cameras doomed to be a thing of the past? Local communities have been grappling with the justification of the red light camera machines for a while. The machines required to operate and issue red light camera tickets cost millions to install and maintain and for many municipalities they are discovering that those very machines are not netting the revenue that was hoped.

Elderly Driver Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident

An elderly man sustained injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after his 1932 Model A Ford was broadsided by a pizza delivery car at a street intersection. According to a news report in The Press-Telegram, the injury and car accident occurred at the intersection of Downey Avenue and Imperial Highway in Downey the evening of November 14, 2010. The man, said to be in his 80s, was attempting a left turn onto Imperial Highway when he was T-boned by a pizza delivery car turning left onto Downey. The Ford's driver suffered head injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Motorcycle Accident Proves Fatal for Man

Justin Olivera, 40, was killed in a car accident when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck. According to a news report in The Chico Enterprise Record, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred the night of November 14, 2010 at the intersection of Highway 162 and Glenn County Road in Glenn County. Olivera was riding his motorcycle when a pickup truck driven by Leonard Lambert, 76, turned into his lane of traffic. Olivera was unable to avoid the truck and sustained serious injuries including a broken pelvis in the accident. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Motorcycle Accident in Orange County Causes Injuries

A motorcycle accident in the city of Westminster resulted in injuries for a city police officer the afternoon of November 12, 2010. The Orange County Register reports that the injury car accident happened when the officer, who was traveling east on Garden Grove Boulevard, was struck by a 2008 Chevy Aveo driven by 66-year-old Stephen Bierne. The vehicle was pulling out of a private driveway when it struck the motorcycle officer. The police officer was injured, but he is expected to survive. Officials are investigation this incident.

Man Injured in San Francisco Area Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident

Tom Lyons, 43, was severely injured in a hit-and-run car accident after his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck in Marin County. According to a news report in the Marin Independent Journal, the major injury car accident occurred the morning of November 14, 2010 when he was riding his bike with friend, Steve Fredricks, on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard between Olema and Platform Bridge Road. Lyons was hospitalized with a broken collar bone, six cracked ribs, a concussion and other injuries. He is expected to survive. The hit-and-run vehicle, which left the scene, is described as a white pickup with a camper shell and surfboard sticking out the back.

San Bernardino Car Accident Proves Fatal for Man in Wheelchair

Juan Coya, 79, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident when he was struck by a car while crossing the street in a motorized wheelchair. According to a news report in The San Bernardino County Sun, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Pipeline Avenue and Rosewood Way in Chino Hills the evening of November 16, 2010. Coya was crossing the street when a vehicle travelling north on Pipeline struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not clear if the driver will be cited for the accident. An investigation into the incident is still pending.

Three Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident

Three people were injured in a Los Angeles car accident, which involved a car and a Los Angeles Department of Transportation bus. According to a report in the Pasadena Star-News, the injury accident occurred the morning of November 16, 2010, when a Nissan Maxima and the commuter bus struck each other near an apartment building at the intersection of Cordova Street and Madison Avenue in Pasadena. The bus driver and a passenger in the bus were transported to a local hospital as was the driver of the Nissan. The impact from the collision caused the bus to jump the curb and hit a decorative wall outside the apartment building, but there were no other injuries or damages.

In a decision entered on May 21 of this year, a Superior Court appellate panel ordered that a photo enforcement citation issued to Tarek Khaled be dismissed.

10 Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident Involving Church Bus

At least 10 people were injured, four seriously, in a Los Angeles car accident involving two vehicles and a church bus, KTLA News reports. The injury bus accident occurred the morning of November 14, 2010 near the intersection of Alameda and 1st Street in the Little Tokyo area of Los Angeles. The mini-bus carried several members of the First Chinese Baptist Church. Four sustained major injuries while five others suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Anaheim Car Accident Critically Injures Girl

A toddler sustained serious injuries in an Anaheim car accident, which according to police, was caused by a red light runner. The Orange County Register reports that the car accident happened near the intersection of Ball Road and Knott Avenue when a man driving a Ford Fusion ran three red lights and crashed into two vehicles -- a Toyota and a Nissan Altima. A 3-year-old girl in the Nissan was the most seriously injured. Two adults in the Nissan and two passengers in the Toyota were also injured. An investigation is ongoing.

Man Killed in Los Angeles Car Accident

Victor Spirov, 39, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after his two-wheeler was struck by a car that was making a left turn. According to a report in The Pasadena Star-News, the fatal car accident occurred the night of November 9, 2010 at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Melrose Avenue in Pasadena. A man driving a Honda east on Colorado made a left turn at Melrose Avenue. Police say the traffic signal was green at the time and that the man was supposed to yield right-of-way to Spirov's oncoming scooter. The driver told officials that he did not see Spirov on his scooter as he made the turn. An investigation is ongoing.

Riverside Hit-and-Run Car Accident Injures Teenager

A 14-year-old boy was injured in a Riverside car accident, that police report, was caused by a hit-and-run driver the afternoon of November 8, 2010. According to a news report in The Riverside Press-Enterprise, the pedestrian accident occurred near Central Avenue and Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore. The boy was hit by a Saturn Vue SUV, which left the scene of the accident. The boy suffered injuries to his left side and arm. A witness apparently provided the license plate of the hit-and-run car to police. The driver, Rachael Mary Panza, 47, was arrested in her home. She was found passed out in her bedroom. Panza has been charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run.

I am relieved to hear that the young boy was not seriously injured in this hit-and-run car accident. My thoughts and prayers are with him as he recovers from his injuries.

Two people were injured in an Orange County car accident after two vehicles collided at a street intersection. Maria Trinidad Anguiano Galindo, 53, was killed in a San Diego car accident after she was hit by a car while crossing the street. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of D Avenue and East 18th Street in National City, the morning of November 5, 2010. A pickup truck driven by a Chula Vista man made a left hand turn and struck Galindo as she crossed East 18th Street. The driver told officials he had the green light, but the sun was in his eyes and he was unable to see the pedestrian.

Riverside Pedestrian Accident Involves Hit-and-Run Driver

A teenager sustained severe head injuries in a hit-and-run car accident after a driver struck her as she was trick-or-treating the night of October 31, 2010 in Riverside. The Press-Enterprise reports the car accident happened at the intersection of Lincoln and Jamestown Avenues when a silver pickup truck hit the 14-year-old trick-or-treater and then sped away from the scene. Witnesses say the driver of the pickup made no attempt to slow down or stop before striking the girl. The teen has been hospitalized in critical condition. Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver.

Hit-and-Run Car Accident in San Bernardino Proves Fatal

A woman, who was killed in a hit-and-run car accident in Twentynine Palms, has been identified as 66-year-old Lezzette Montgomery. The Press-Enterprise reports that the fatal car accident happened the night of October 29, 2010 near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Mission Avenue. All the information police have at this time is that Montgomery was struck by a black SUV, which left the scene of the car accident. An investigation is ongoing.

Herbert Herman Rivas, 43, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident, which police believe, may have been caused by a driver making a dangerous left-hand turn. According a news report in the Los Angeles Times, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred the afternoon of October 26, 2010 on Redondo Beach Boulevard in Gardena. Rivas was travelling eastbound on Redondo Beach Boulevard on his motorcycle when he crashed into a Toyota Sienna van that was turning left on Budlong Avenue. Rivas was transported to a local hospital where he died. Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the fatal car accident.

Daniel Tejada, 49, was killed in a San Bernardino car accident on October 31, 2010 after he was struck by a driver who fled the scene. DUI Collision in Los Angeles Injures Two CHP Officers

California Highway Patrol officers Raliegh Quinones and Jeremy Tolen were injured in a Los Angeles car accident after a suspected drink driver slammed into their patrol vehicle on the 605 Freeway. The Los Angeles Times reports that Quinones and Tolen were traveling north on the freeway near Santa Fe Springs the night of October 27, 2010, when they parked behind an unoccupied and disabled SUV on the right shoulder.

It was then that a pickup truck driven by Lazaro Ramirez crashed into the rear of the patrol vehicle at about 65 mph with the officers still inside. The impact pushed the patrol car into the SUV ahead and traffic lanes where a Toyota Highlander driven by Elizabeth Retiza hit it. The CHP officers sustained injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. Retiza was uninjured in the accident. Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
