A 57-year-old man was critically injured in a San Diego car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver, the night of June 28, 2011. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the major injury collision occurred on Mission Gorge Road, near Old Cliffs Road, in Allied Gardens. The man was found by officials lying in the westbound bicycle lane with serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital. Officials say he appears to have been hit by a vehicle whose driver did not stop. An investigation is ongoing.
