How to Ensure Your Interests are Protected after a Massachusetts Car Accident

No one ever plans on getting into an accident while on their commute to work or running errands on the weekends. The reality is that they can happen to anyone at anytime and this is why it is so imperative to know what to do if you are involved in one.

In the event that your Massachusetts motor vehicle accident was caused by another driver’s negligence, here are a few helpful suggestions to keep in mind:

• Don’t sign any insurance forms from the other driver’s insurance company
An adjuster from the at-fault driver’s insurance company will most likely be calling you or mailing you correspondence in the days or weeks after your car accident, requesting information about the accident and may try to take a recorded statement from you as well. The adjuster will probably make an offer for your injury because they want to settle your claim immediately, which means that it may not be in your best interest to do as they say. At this point, you may want to consider speaking with a personal injury attorney, who can advise you on what legal options you have and what compensation you could be entitled to beyond what the insurance adjuster is offering
