A bicyclist identified as 82-year-old Peter Tomaino, was killed in a Laguna Hills car accident after colliding with a vehicle while crossing a street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal bicycle accident occurred the afternoon of May 26, 2015. Officials say Tomaino was crossing from a Ralphs parking lot on the west side of Paseo De Valencia south of Alicia Parkway when he was struck by a vehicle that was going south on the roadway.

William Easley, an 81-year-old activist and philanthropist, suffered fatal injuries in a San Bernardino bicycle accident after he was struck from behind by a car. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, Easley and another cyclist were riding their bikes on the 1000 block of East Lynwood Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. on December 28, 2014, when a 1997 his Easley from behind. The other cyclist, a local doctor, attempted CPR on Easley. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died.

According to a news report in the Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred near Moulton Parkway and Santa Maria Avenue.

Haitham Gamal, 38, of Dana Point, was killed in a bicycle accident, which officials suspect, may have involved an impaired driver. The Orange County Register reports that the bike crash occurred the night of April 29, 2014 along Pacific Coast Highway near the Green Lantern intersection. Gamal was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger were also hospitalized when their 2001 Acura sedan overturned after hitting the bicyclist. The driver of the Acura was only identified as a 19-year-old man. He and his 18-year-old passenger were transported to an area hospital with head trauma. No citations or arrests have been reported pending an official investigation.

David Mendez, 22, was killed in a Riverside bicycle accident, which officials say, involved a suspected drunk driver. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the fatal collision occurred the afternoon of January 5, 2014. Police say Mendez was riding a bike east on Central Avenue in the far left lane about three-quarters of a mile west of Victoria Avenue when a driver struck him from behind. Mendez, who was wearing a helmet, suffered fatal injuries and died at a local hospital. The driver was detained at the scene and officials, but it is not clear if he was arrested. Officials suspect that the driver was under the influence. The investigation is ongoing.

James Rapley, a 29-year-old visitor from Australia, was killed in a bicycle crash after a vehicle struck him. According to a report in The Pacific Palisades Patch, the fatal bike crash occurred the morning of December 22, 2013 on Temescal Canyon Road near Pacific Coast Highway. Rapley was eastbound on Temescal Canyon Road when a 1980 Mercedes struck him. Rapley was transported to an area hospital where he died. Mohammed Kadri, the 19-year-old driver of the vehicle, remained at the scene. LAPD officers are still investigating the incident. No arrests were reported.
