Officials are saying that a DUI collision may have triggered a series of crashes, which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist and injured 10 others on August 3, 2010. According to KCRA news report, the fatal crash occurred on the Interstate 505, near Putah Creek Road, in Winters.

Long Beach Motorcycle Accident Involves Hit-and-Run Driver

A hit-and-run collision in Long Beach left a Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer injured. The Press Telegram reports that the injury collision occurred at the corner of Marina Drive and Second Street, when a Ford Explorer rear-ended the officer and then fled the scene of the crash. Officials have identified the vehicle as a green Ford Explorer SUV. If you witnessed the incident or have information about the suspect or vehicle, please call police at 562-435-6711.

It is indeed fortunate that the female police officer did not sustain life-threatening injuries. I hope she recovers quickly and fully from her injuries. She will be in my prayers.

Roadway Debris Causes Sacramento Motorcycle Crash

Debris on the roadway may have caused a motorcycle accident that left a Sacramento police officer with injuries. The Sacramento City News reports the motorcycle accident happened the morning of July 26, 2010 at the intersection of Third Street and Richards Boulevard. The officer was traveling north on Third Street and began to turn on to Richards Boulevard when his motorcycle slid on debris. The motorcycle crashed and the police officer injured his left ankle.

Orange County Motorcycle Crash Causes Injuries

A motorcycle accident in Orange County involving a big-rig caused serious injuries to one person the afternoon of July 20, 2010. The Orange County Register reports that the injury crash occurred at the intersection of Raymond and Chapman Avenues. The truck was making a right turn on to Chapman and the motorcycle was headed east on Chapman. The injured motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital. Police are looking into what caused this collision.

I sympathize with this injured rider for what he is going through at this time. I hope he has not suffered major injuries and pray that he has a quick and full recovery.

Oakland Car Accident Proves Fatal for Motorcyclist

A 40-year-old San Francisco man was killed in an Oakland car accident after crashing with a car at a street intersection the afternoon of July 4, 2010. According to a news report in the Contra Costa Times, the fatal motorcycle collision occurred at the intersection of West Grand Avenue and Magnolia Street. A 31-year-old man driving a Mercedes-Benz sedan east on Grand made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, which was traveling west. The motorcyclist was thrown off his bike on to the pavement. His injuries were fatal. An investigation is ongoing.

I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this deceased motorcyclist. I hope they find the answers they are looking for with regard to this tragic crash. This grieving family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident Proves Fatal

Authorities in Antioch are looking for a hit-and-run driver who they say caused a deadly accident that claimed the lives of two people on a motorcycle. Bay City News reports that the deadly accident occurred on eastbound Highway 4 when the driver of a Ford F-250 truck made an unsafe lane change and caused a Honda driver to lose control and hit the motorcycle. The motorcyclist and the passenger died from their injuries while the driver of the Honda was hospitalized with major injuries. The pickup truck's driver left the scene of the accident.

Ontario Car Accident Kills Motorcyclist

Enrique Jose Salas, 45, was killed in a Ontario car accident after he was struck by a vehicle that was making a left turn at an intersection. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, the fatal motorcycle crash occurred at the intersection of Turner Avenue and Silver Saddle Street the morning of June 13, 2010. Salas was riding a Honda motorcycle south on Turner when he was struck by a Ford Ranger pickup truck, which was attempting to turn left from Silver Saddle to northbound Turner. Salas was transported to a local hospital where he died. An investigation is ongoing.

Motorcycle Accident on Highway 99 Causes Major Injuries

Rodney Tate, 50, was seriously injured in a car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on Highway 99. According to an article in the Lodi News-Sentinel, Tate was riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was merging on to the highway from Turner Road. California Highway Patrol officials say his motorcycle and a 1991 Acura Integra driven by 31-year-old Maria Serreira, collided the afternoon of June 7, 2010. Tate was transported to a Sacramento hospital with major injuries. He was listed in serious condition. Officials say Serreira does not have a valid driver's license. An investigation is ongoing.

James Woolworth, 49, was injured in a motorcycle accident after he was struck by a vehicle that was making a left turn at a Napa intersection. According to a news report in the Napa Valley Register, the injury collision occurred the morning of June 3, 2010, at the intersection of Jefferson and Third streets in Napa.

San Diego DUI Collision Seriously Injures Motorcyclist

A DUI collision in San Diego caused serious injuries to a motorcyclist the afternoon of May 29, 2010. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the collision between a car and the motorcycle occurred at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Main Street in Chula Vista, when the driver ran a red light, struck the motorcyclist and then fled the scene of the crash.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, suffered several fractures and was taken to a local medical center for treatment. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. The female driver was later arrested and charged with DUI causing injury, drug possession and felony hit-and-run.

Merced Motorcycle Accident Causes Major Injuries

Wallace Dunn, 53, sustained major injuries in a car accident in the Merced area after his motorcycle was struck by a car making a left turn on Highway 140. According to a news report in the Merced Sun Star, the injury crash occurred the afternoon of May 27, 2010 west of Arboleda Drive.

Dunn was riding a motorcycle west on the highway while 24-year-old Teresa Ledesma was driving a 1999 Ford Mustang east on the highway near Merced. California Highway Patrol officials said Ledesma then turned left into a private driveway directly in front of Dunn's motorcycle. Dunn was thrown off the cycle and transported to a local hospital with major injuries.

Motorcyclist Killed in Long Beach Car Accident

Jose Bazen, 26, was killed in a Long Beach car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle at a local intersection. According to a news report in the Contra Costa Times, the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Market Street and Walnut Avenue on May 20, 2010. Long Beach police officials said a driver of a 1994 Cadillac DeVille came to a complete stop at the intersection, but failed to yield the right-of-way and pulled out in front of the motorcycle.

San Francisco Bay Area Motorcycle Accident Involves Hit-and-Run Driver

An on-duty police officer sustained injuries in a hit-and-run collision after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle at an Oakland intersection. CBS News reports that the injury collision occurred the afternoon of May 5, 2010 at the intersection of B Street and 98th Avenue in Oakland. The Volkswagen Jetta that hit the Alameda County Sheriff's deputy fled the scene of the crash. However, the 34-year-old woman who fled was arrested shortly afterward. The officer was transported to an area hospital. Thankfully, he did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.

I'm glad to hear that the sheriff's deputy was not critically injured. Officials say that the crash was so intense that the Jetta's grill fell on to the roadway at the scene of the crash. I pray for the officer's quick and complete recovery.

Ventura Car Accident Proves Fatal for Motorcyclist

A 54-year-old man was fatally injured in a Ventura car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a car on Pacific Coast Highway in Oxnard. According to a news report in the Ventura County Star, the fatal motorcycle crash occurred the afternoon of April 25, 2010 on Pacific Coast Highway near Deer Creek Road. California Highway Patrol officials say that the motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was traveling north on PCH when the 19-year-old female driver suddenly entered the highway from the right shoulder, not noticing the approaching motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was traveling at normal speed, but didn't have sufficient time to avoid the collision. The man was thrown off his motorcycle and landed in the middle of the road. He sustained a fractured right leg and internal injuries. He died at a nearby hospital where he was being treated.

Man Injured in Los Angeles Motorcycle Accident

A man suffered major injuries in a Los Angeles motorcycle accident after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on the 605 Freeway in Baldwin Park. The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports that the motorcycle crash occurred near the 10 Freeway the afternoon of April 3, 2010. The motorcyclist, whom officials identified as a 56-year-old Santa Ana man, apparently veered left and crashed into the center median wall. His arm was severed in the crash and doctors are currently trying to reattach the arm. The injured motorcyclist is expected to survive.

I hope this victim's arm can be successfully reattached and that he hasn't suffered any catastrophic injuries. I wish him the very best for a speedy and full recovery. He will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Los Angeles Car Accident Injures LAPD Officer on Motorcycle

An off-duty police officer sustained injuries in a Los Angeles car accident after he was struck by a car, which turned into a driveway in front of the officer's motorcycle. The Pasadena Star-News reports that the motorcycle crash occurred on Bellefontaine Street near St. John Street, in Pasadena, the morning of March 22, 2010. Police say the driver of the car made a turn while cutting off the LAPD officer on the motorcycle. The injured officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to have been life-threatening. The car's driver was uninjured.

I'm relieved to hear that this off-duty officer did not sustain serious injuries in this car versus motorcycle accident. I wish him the very best for a quick and complete recovery from his injuries.

Motorcyclist Killed in Riverside Car Accident

A 24-year-old man who was killed in a Riverside car accident the night of March 22, 2010 has been identified by authorities as Matthew Wills. A news report states that the fatal motorcycle crash occurred when Wills was riding a 2007 Yamaha south on Canyon Crest Drive, near Via Vista Drive. The driver of a Nissan Altima made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. Wills could not avoid a collision with the car and was thrown off his motorcycle. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died. The Nissan's driver was uninjured.

San Diego DUI Collision Kills Motorcyclist

A motorcyclist was killed in a San Diego car accident after he was struck by a suspected drunk driver the afternoon of March 19, 2010. According to a news report in The San Diego Union-Tribune, the 36-year-old man was riding a motorcycle south on Florida Drive. A 2005 Volvo sedan traveling east on Zoo Place hit the motorcycle as the car's driver tried to make a left turn on to Florida. The rider was thrown to the ground and run over, moments later, by another vehicle that was southbound on Florida. Both drivers stopped. The driver of the Volvo that initially struck the motorcyclist was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter.

Fatal Los Angeles Motorcycle Accident

motorcycle sports bikeJason Stark, 32, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after a pickup truck turned in front of him at an intersection in Mt. Baldy, the afternoon of March 14, 2010. According to a news report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Stark was northbound on Mt. Baldy Road on a 1999 Ducati, when a 1995 Dodge Ram made a U-turn in front of Stark's motorcycle. The driver reportedly told investigators that he checked the traffic to his left, but did not see Stark. The motorcyclist was going about 45 mph and tried to stop, but could not avoid the truck in time. Stark died at the scene. California Highway Patrol officials said that the pickup truck driver and his passengers were not injured.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Jason Stark for their devastating loss. I offer my deepest sympathies to them. Please keep this family in your prayers during their time of grief.

Los Angeles Car Accident Kills Motorcyclist

Blake Harold, 20, was killed in a Los Angeles car accident after his motorcycle was struck by a driver who was making a left turn at a Temple City intersection. According to a news report in the Pasadena Star-News, the fatal motorcycle crash occurred the afternoon of March 12, 2010 at the intersection of Rosemead Boulevard and Emperor Avenue. Harold was riding north on Rosemead when his motorcycle and a Toyota Matrix that was being driven by a 21-year-old man, collided with each other. The Toyota was making a left turn from southbound Rosemead on to Emperor Avenue on a yellow light when the collision occurred. Officials have not yet determined who was at fault here, but they say drugs or alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
