Los Angeles County Auto Accident Kills Man
Juan Manuel Torres, 61, of Pomona died in a Los Angeles auto accident on March 21, 2009 after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports. Pomona police officials and Los Angeles County fire paramedics responded to the incident at Holt Avenue and Illinois Street after they received reports of a vehicle collision. Torres had crashed his 1984 Toyota pickup truck into a tree. He was found unconscious and had suffered head injuries in the auto accident.
According to preliminary investigations, Torres was westbound on Holt Avenue when his truck veered off the road and hit the tree. Officials are still looking into what caused Torres to lose control of his truck. Torres was taken to an area hospital where he died.
