Woman Injured in Orange County Big Rig Accident

Jane Lagman, 26, sustained moderate injuries in an Orange County truck accident that occurred January 13, 2010 after her Toyota Celica became lodged underneath a big rig on the 5 Freeway in Anaheim. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, Lagman had to be extricated by firefighters. California Highway Patrol officials say they are not clear exactly how Lagman’s vehicle became pinned under the large truck on the southbound 5 Freeway near Magnolia Avenue. Lagman was transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries.

Traffic Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were 30 fatalities and 2,006 injuries involving car accidents in Anaheim, California. In Orange County as a whole, 178 deaths and 14,185 injuries were reported as a result of traffic accidents during the same year.
