Three Fatally Injured in Orange County Car Accident

By

Three people were fatally injured in an Orange County car accident after a fiery two-car collision on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim. The Orange County Register reports that the car accident occurred near the Coal Canyon undercrossing the night of March 16, 2010. California Highway Patrol officials said that a driver of a 1988 Mazda suddenly lost control of the vehicle, veered across the freeway lanes and crashed into a 2008 Chevy Silverado. The Mazda burst into flames. All three people in the Mazda died at the scene. Brandon H. Charlie, 29, the driver of the Silverado and his passenger 23-year-old Arioll Joe sustained minor injuries. Officials have not yet identified the deceased occupants of the Mazda.

My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved these deceased victims. I offer my deepest sympathies to their families and friends. They will be in my prayers.

What Caused this Accident?

If this news report is accurate, it appears that something went horribly wrong with the Mazda or its driver. There are several questions here. Was there a vehicle defect or a mechanical malfunction in the Mazda that caused the driver to lose control? Was there another vehicle involved? Did another driver force the Mazda out of the roadway? Was there a dangerous condition on the roadway that caused this tragic accident?

It would be in the best interests of these victims’ families to preserve the Mazda in its current crashed condition, in tact, so it can be thoroughly examined by an expert for auto product defects, mechanical malfunctions and other evidence.
