Leaving the Scene of a Car Accident
Based on this news report, the driver of the white sedan struck and injured this pedestrian and took off without even stopping to see what happened, or without obtaining medical assistance for the seriously injured victim. The actions of the motorist in this incident were appalling to say the least. Leaving the scene of an injury car accident is immoral, irresponsible and illegal.
California Vehicle Code Section 20001 (a) states: “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”
