Orange County Car Accident Injures Three

By

Three people were injured in an Orange County car accident, which involved two vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the head-on collision occurred the morning of April 7, 2011 in the 11500 block of Western Avenue in Stanton. Three women were transported to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The crash involved a Chevy Tahoe with three people inside including a child and a Toyota Camry with only its driver. An investigation is ongoing.

My heart goes out to the injured victims of this Stanton car accident. It is indeed fortunate that the child, who was a passenger in the Tahoe, escaped uninjured. I wish the three injured victims the very best for a speedy and complete recovery. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Car Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), one person died and 122 were injured in Stanton car accidents. In Orange County as a whole, car accidents claimed 152 lives and injured 13,414 people during the same year.

Possible Accident Causes

This news report does not clearly state what caused this injury car accident. There are several unanswered questions here. Did one of the drivers cross over into opposing lanes of traffic? Was one of the drivers making an unsafe turn or lane change at the time? Was speed, intoxication, distraction a factor in this car accident? Was there a dangerous condition on the roadway, which may have caused or contributed to this accident? I trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to precisely determine what led to this collision.

Fault and Liability

In such cases, the at-fault driver can be held liable for injuries, damages and losses caused. Injured victims can file a personal injury claim against the at-fault motorist or his or her insurance company seeking compensation for medical expenses, loss of wages, cost of hospitalization, physical therapy and other related damages. Car accident victims would be well-advised to contact an experienced Orange County personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all facets of the incident and ensure that the negligent parties are held liable. A skilled car accident attorney will also explain how the victims’ car insurance policy might apply to an incident where the at-fault motorist is uninsured or underinsured.
