Half-Naked DUI Suspect Causes Los Angeles Car Accident While Stealing a Tow Truck

By

Getting your car towed is one of the most frustrating experiences you can have, unless you decide to then steal the tow truck and cause a multiple-vehicle car accident in Los Angeles. If you REALLY wanted to kick off your weekend, you could then jump out of the moving tow truck and run bare foot down the 5 freeway with the Los Angeles police department in pursuit. Believe it or not, this is exactly the scene witnessed on the southbound 5 Freeway near Alondra Boulevard.

In what was an awkward moment, even for downtown Los Angeles, an unidentified woman whose car was about to be towed decided to turn the tables and steal the tow truck. According to mailonline.com, she then jumped out of the moving truck and ran away barefoot wearing only fitted, black midriff-bearing top and spandex shorts, eventually causing an auto accident. Los Angeles police Lt Wayne Lightfoot said that the woman’s name is not available “either because she was unable to provide it, severely mentally impaired or under the influence”.

Los Angeles Drunk Driving Accidents

Although it has not been confirmed, it looks as though this mad dasher was the culprit of a drunk driving accident. Under California law, it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 percent or higher. Judging by Lt. Wayne Lightfoot’s statement, I think it is safe to assume that this driver exceeded that level. Thankfully, no one seems to have been injured as a result of this woman’s hysterics, but that was extraordinarily good luck.

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 258 people died and 4,832 injuries were reported involving alcohol-related car accidents in Los Angeles County. In many cases, victims are able to pursue compensation from the at-fault driver for their medical expenses, as well as pain and suffering directly related to their auto accident.
