Three Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident

By

Three people were injured in a Los Angeles car accident involving three vehicles colliding on the freeway. According to a City News Service report, the serious injury accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of the Ventura (101) Freeway in Tarzana, the night of September 11, 2011. Two of the victims were severely injured and were extricated from their vehicle by emergency crews. They have been listed in critical condition. The third victim has been listed in fair condition. It is unclear what caused the collision, but a witness at the crash site stated that the vehicle containing the critically injured victims came to rest along the guardrail and another vehicle ended up in the fast lane.

My thoughts and prayers are with the injured victims of this Los Angeles car accident. I wish all of them a complete and speedy recovery.

Los Angeles Car Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2009 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 227 were killed and 25,043 were injured in Los Angeles car accidents. During that same year, there were 554 fatalities and 50,817 injuries reported due to Los Angeles County car accidents.

What Caused This Serious Injury Accident?

It is unclear at the moment what may have led to this freeway collision. Was one of the motorists violating California Vehicle Code Section 22350 by speeding? Did a driver violate California Vehicle Code Section 21658 by making an unsafe lane change? Did one of the drivers tailgate? Did alcohol or drugs play a part? Was one of the drivers distracted or inattentive? I trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.

Liability Issues

Victims of serious injury accidents may seek financial compensation for their losses by filing a personal injury claim. Injured victims can seek compensation for damages including medical expenses, lost wages, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation, and pain and suffering. Car accident victims would be well-advised to contact an experienced Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all aspects of the incident and ensure that the negligent parties are held liable.
