Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash Causes Major Injuries

By

A driver who caused a hit-and-run car accident leaving two people with serious injuries fled the scene on foot, according to a City News Service report.

California Highway Patrol officials say the crash occurred on the northbound 101 Freeway just east of the 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks late on July 13, 2014.

The vehicle blamed for the wreck was a black 2003 BMW.

Officials say the BMW
collided with a white Honda causing the Honda to spin and overturn. When both vehicles came to rest, the driver of the BMW got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

A 41-year-old Woodland Hills woman and a 32-year-old Santa Clarita man who were occupants of the white Honda suffered major injuries and were taken an area hospital for treatment. Officials were not able to track down the hit-and-run suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the two seriously injured victims of this crash. We wish them the very best for a quick and full recovery.

Injured victims of hit-and-run crashes are often left facing a number of expenses relating to medical costs and lost wages. This is especially a challenge when there is no one to hold accountable. In such cases, an experienced Los Angeles personal injury lawyer will be able to advise victims about how the uninsured motorist clause of their own auto insurance policy will apply. If and when the driver is apprehended, he or she can also be held financially responsible for the injuries and damages caused.
