Two Injured in Tustin Car Accident

By

Two people were injured in a Tustin car accident after their vehicles collided head on.

According to a news report in the Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred early morning on October 19, 2014 along Edinger Avenue near Jamboree Plaza.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a 20-year-old man trapped in
the front passenger seat of one of the vehicles.

They had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the man. The driver of the vehicle declined to be taken to the hospital. The only occupant of the other vehicle, a man in his 20s, suffered traumatic injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured victims of this crash. We wish them the very best for a quick and complete recovery.

Crash Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2012 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were four fatalities and 384 injuries involving Tustin car accidents.

In Orange County as a whole, 148 people died and 14,029 were injured due to car accidents during the same year.

What Caused This Crash?

Based on this news report, it is not clear how or why this street intersection crash occurred. There are several questions here.

Did one of the drivers fail to yield the right of way at the intersection? Did one of the drivers make an unsafe or illegal turn? Did alcohol, drugs, excessive speed or distracted driving play a part in this crash?

We trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine precisely what occurred here.

Liability Issues

In such cases, the at-fault driver can be held liable for the injuries, damages and losses caused. Injured victims can seek compensation for damages including medical expenses, lost wages, hospitalization, rehabilitation, pain and suffering and emotional distress.

Injured victims would also be well advised to contact an experienced Orange County personal injury attorney who will examine all aspects of the incident and ensure that the negligent parties are held liable.
