Moreno Valley Motorcycle Accident Proves Fatal

Motorcycle AccidentA motorcyclist was fatally injured in a Moreno Valley car accident the afternoon of September 9, 2015.

According to a news report in The Press Enterprise, the deadly motorcycle accident occurred when the rider was traveling east on Alessandro Boulevard near Perris Boulevard.

Officials say a car pulled out of a business onto the road and collided with the motorcycle. The rider was ejected. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he died. No citations or arrests were reported pending an official investigation.

Motorcycle Accident Statistics

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2013 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), one fatality and 37 injuries were reported as a result of motorcycle accidents in Moreno Valley.

In Riverside County as a whole, 37 people died and 627 were injured due to motorcycle accidents during the same year.

Right-of-Way Issues

Based on this news report, it appears that the driver in this case pulled out of a driveway and struck the motorcyclist. Drivers pulling out of public or private driveways must yield right-of-way to pedestrians and oncoming vehicles.
