North Hills Minivan Rollover Crash Proves Deadly

By

One man was killed and eight others were injured in a North Hills rollover crash triggered by a 20-year-old woman who ran a red light and crashed into a minivan at a street intersection the morning of April 17, 2016. According to a Fox 11 news report, the driver, Saidy Samayoa, was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash at Sepulveda Boulevard and Parthenia Street. Police say she sped away westbound on Parthenia in a white Toyota SUV, failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a Sienna minivan that was going north on Haskell Avenue.

Fatality and Major Injuries

Several passengers were ejected. The man driving the Sienna died from his injuries. Four children seated in the rear of the van suffered severe injuries. The front seat passenger was also injured, but the nature and extent of that person’s injuries are not clear. Police arrested Samayoa on suspicion of murder. Her two male passengers also suffered major injuries. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact LAPD at 818-644-8025.

We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased driver. Our hearts also go out to the family that is dealing with four injured children. We wish the victims the very best for a quick and full recovery.

Ongoing Investigation

Based on this news report, it appears that the driver of the SUV, Samayoa, not only fled the scene of another hit-and-run crash, but was also speeding and ran a red light at the intersection, striking another vehicle and causing one fatality and multiple injuries. We’re relieved to note that the driver is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

We hope the family will get grief counseling following this traumatic event. As Los Angeles car accident attorneys who often represent victims of car crashes or families that have lost loved ones under traumatic circumstances, we strongly recommend that our clients seek and obtain grief counseling to help them through challenging times.

Justice for Victims

Injured victims can seek compensation for damages such as medical expenses, lost wages, hospitalization, rehabilitation, pain and suffering and mental anguish. Injured victims and their families would be well advised to contact an experienced California personal injury lawyer who will remain on their side, fight for their rights and ensure that they receive maximum compensation for their tremendous losses.
