A man suffered life-threatening injuries in an Anaheim motorcycle accident. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred the night of February 13, 2017 on Lincoln Avenue near Empire Street. When responders arrived at the scene, they found a seriously injured man and took him to an area hospital. Officials said the motorcyclist was in “extremely critical condition with life threatening injuries.” The driver of the car, a Honda Civic, was uninjured. She remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Officials do not suspect the involvement of alcohol or drugs in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured victim of this motorcycle crash. We wish him the very best for a quick and complete recovery.

Motorcycle Accident Statistics

What Caused This Crash?

Based on this news report, it is not clear precisely how this injury crash occurred. There are a number of questions here. How did this crash occur? Did it happen at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Empire Street? Did the driver of the vehicle strike the motorcyclist while making a turn at the intersection? Did the driver fail to yield the right of way to the oncoming motorcycle? Did distracted driving, excessive speed or some other type of negligence play a part in this collision? We trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.

Fault and Liability

In this particular case, if the vehicle’s driver is determined to have been at fault, she could be held liable for the motorcyclist’s injuries, damages and losses. Injured victims can seek compensation for damages such as medical expenses, lost wages, hospitalization, rehabilitation, pain and suffering and emotional distress. Injured victims would also be well advised to contact an experienced Anaheim personal injury lawyer who will stay abreast of the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected. The best personal injury law firms will always offer a free consultation and comprehensive case evaluation to injured victims and their families.
