The Share Our Selves (SOS) Adopt A Family Program is happening again this holiday season, and the California personal injury attorneys and staff at Bisnar Chase Personal Injury Attorneys law firm are getting excited. Members of the Bisnar Chase Personal Injury Attorneys staff have been donors in the program for the last sixteen years, and the giving has developed into an office tradition.
Adopt A Family is the holiday program in its 41st year organized to allow community members to give to other locals who may be struggling during this time of year. Individuals, businesses, schools, and organizations can all sign up to donate gifts and food to families that they “adopt.”
“When Christmas rolls around, that means an all-out, present-wrapping-pizza-party at our office for the staff,” said Shannon Barker, legal administrator and office manager at Bisnar Chase Personal Injury Attorneys who says the firm’s staff members come together, usually a week or two before Christmas, to wrap presents for the families they adopt. “This is something we’ve been doing for as long as I can remember and it’s a tradition we look forward to every year.”
Making it Happen
Elizabeth Evans of SOS says, “The Adopt A Family Program is a true volunteer effort and SOS is extremely grateful to all those who donate their time and resources to make the holiday season brighter for those in our community who are struggling.”
Students and their families are suggested to Share Our Selves by Costa Mesa and Santa Ana schools, allowing community members to sign-up for donations to help provide gifts for members of the family, food, gift cards, financial assistance, and volunteer services.
John Bisnar, founder of Bisnar Chase Personal Injury Attorneys, describes the Adopt A Family program as a “gift to [his] staff and family.” He says, “It gives us an opportunity to anonymously provide a wonderful Christmas to families who might otherwise have little or nothing on Christmas day. The Adopt A Family program is for those who are struggling during the holidays.
