Jaslyn Ouch, 20, was killed in a Long Beach car accident, which also left four others critically injured. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal car crash occurred near the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Spring Street. Police say Ouch was a passenger in a Honda Civic that was slammed into by a Ford Mustang the evening of Jan. 20. Police say four people were transported. Police say four people were in critical condition after they were pulled from the wreckage. Catherine Gomez, 17, was killed in a Baldwin Park pedestrian accident after a vehicle struck her while she was walking in a marked crosswalk. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal crash occurred the night of Dec. 18 when Gomez was walking with her boyfriend in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Pacific and Vineland avenues. A 39-year-old man was critically injured in a Fullerton bicycle accident after he was struck by a car the evening of December 1, 2017. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury crash occurred near the intersection of Orangethorpe and Courtney avenues. The man suffered head and facial injuries. The driver of the Hyundai sedan, a 52-year-old Fullerton woman, was not injured and remained at the scene. The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. Two people were killed on the 22 Freeway in Garden Grove after a man was struck by a vehicle when he got out of a disabled vehicle, an incident that triggered a subsequent crash. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, 50-year-old Raul Vazquez Jr., 50, of Santa Ana was pronounced dead at the scene and Charlotte Nugent, 68, of Seal Beach died at a local hospital. Two young boys, ages 7 and 9, were killed in a Boyle Heights crash, and several others were critically injured after they were struck by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department SUV that was responding to a call. According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, the incident occurred the night of November 16, 2017 at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Indiana Street. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, a man driving along Laguna Canyon Road the night of October 15, 2017 fell asleep at the wheel, lost control of his vehicle and struck a power pole knocking live wires across the roadway. The crash, which occurred near the 2600 block of Laguna Canyon Road, shut down the roadway for most of the night. The car’s driver did suffer injuries, but the extent of those injuries is not known. A 58-year-old man was killed in a Long Beach car accident, which involved a teenager who was speeding and driving recklessly, officials said. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, a 17-year-old male driver from Huntington Beach was driving a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse south on Pacific Coast Highway near Studebaker Road the afternoon of September 20, 2017. Witnesses told police the Eclipse was going at least 60 mph weaving through cars.

A man was hospitalized with injuries after a car accident in Costa Mesa, which involved three vehicles. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the collision occurred the morning of August 28, 2017 at the intersection of Newport Boulevard and 16th Street. Police say when firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw one woman and three men involved from three vehicles.

The woman declined medical treatment as did two men who were in a gardening truck. A fourth person, a man in his late 20s or early 30s, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by fire officials. Sarah Krueger, 46, was fatally injured in a Seal Beach pedestrian accident the morning of August 11, 2017. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and 12th Street. Paramedics who responded to the incident found Krueger in full cardiac arrest. She had suffered life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Krueger, a Seal Beach resident, was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital where she died from her injuries. Officials have not released details regarding the circumstances of this deadly pedestrian accident. No arrests or citations have been reported. Police are looking into whether a car accident in Anaheim that killed a man who was pulling into his driveway was prompted by street racing. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, an 18-year-old man is accused of slamming his car early morning on July 30, 2017 into the vehicle of Tarek Hamed, 34, killing him. The teen, Jorge Esteban Lunas Martinez, has been arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony DUI and driving without a license.
