A 15-year-old boy, identified as Ramiro Macias, was critically injured in a bicycle accident after he was struck by a minivan while riding his bike. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the teen was riding his bike near Brookhurst Street and Ball Road the night of September 18, 2016. Witnesses told police that the van, a gray Dodge Caravan, was driving erratically, swerved and struck the bicyclist.
They also told police that the driver failed to stop and continued driving. The boy was riding his bike south on Brookhurst in the bike lane. The front of the minivan will have damage consistent with hitting a bicycle, officials said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Anaheim police at 714-765-1900.
