We offer our deepest condolences to the family members of Katherine Hampton for their tragic loss. We also wish the injured victims, including the young children who are in serious condition, the very best for a speedy and complete recovery. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Leaving the Scene of a Crash

Based on this news report, it appears that one of the drivers fled the scene of this crash where one person had died and four others were injured. The driver left injured children right there on the roadway.

California Vehicle Code 20001 (a) requires all motorists to stop immediately at the scene of a crash, wait for authorities to arrive, exchange pertinent information and most importantly, to provide aid to injured victims.

This may be something as simple as calling 911 and getting the injured victims prompt medical attention. In many of these cases, this could make the difference between life and death.

In such cases, injured victims and families of deceased victims would also be well advised to contact an experienced Irvine personal injury attorney who will stay abreast of the official investigation and ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.

An experienced lawyer who has successfully handled hit-and-run cases will also advise victims and families about how their own auto insurance policy might apply to an incident where the at-fault party is uninsured or underinsured.
