Fatal Rowland Heights Crash Involves Suspected DUI Driver


A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Rowland Heights, which officials say, involved a driver who was high on drugs. According to a report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the fatal accident occurred the night of February 16, 2016 on Batson Avenue just south of Colima Road. Officials said the driver, 23-year-old Yussef Hadi Afra, was driving a 2015 Honda Civic north on Batson Avenue. The woman was crossing west on the roadway.

The Honda struck the woman who was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition She died shortly afterward. Afra was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Officials did not say what type of drugs he was suspected of using. The investigation is ongoing. The woman’s name was not released.
