Sherree Lindborg, 52, was killed in a San Francisco area car accident, which officials say, involved a hit-and-run driver. According to a news report in the San Jose Mercury News, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Solano Way near Avon Avenue in Concord the night of January 16, 2011. Lindborg was walking her dog when she stepped onto the roadway and was hit by a car driven by a 17-year-old driver.
A second vehicle then struck the victim who was down on the roadway and drove off. Lindborg and her dog were killed in the accident and the teen driver who remained at the scene of the accident has not been cited. Police are searching for the driver of the second vehicle. They believe the man is in his 20s, has brown hair and drives a four-door hatchback.
My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Sherree Lindborg. My thoughts and prayers are with them following this tragic hit-and-run car accident.

Hit-And-Run Car Accidents
It is not only against the law, but is also a morally reprehensible act to leave the scene of an injury car accident. California Vehicle Code Section 20001 (a) states: “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”
I truly hope officials soon apprehend this driver, who struck the woman and left without even stopping to check on her! Police are searching for the male driver, the female passenger and the four-door hatchback involved in this hit-and-run car accident. Families of deceased car accident victims would be well-advised to seek the counsel of an experienced San Francisco personal injury lawyer, who will stay abreast of the official investigation and ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected. A knowledgeable car accident lawyer should also advise victims’ families, in such cases, about how their own car insurance policy might apply to a hit-and-run car accident where the driver is not identified or in a case where the at-fault motorist is uninsured or underinsured.
