Hit-and-Run Car Accident in San Bernardino Critically Injures Motorcyclist

Police in Hesperia are looking for two hit-and-run drivers who they say critically injured an 18-year-old woman during a San Bernardino car accident the evening of October 30, 2009. According to a news report in the San Bernardino Sun, the teen was riding a Honda 50 motorcycle when a dark-colored SUV crashed into her head-on near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Olive Street. The vehicle then dragged the woman about 100 feet before leaving the scene of the accident, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said.

Even as the woman was lying on the side of the road, injured, a second vehicle struck her. That vehicle, described as a white 1987 to 1991 Ford F-Series truck with a camper shell, did not stop either. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. I’m appalled that two drivers would strike a young woman and leave her lying on the road, injured. I hope and pray that both these drivers are apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I wish the young victim the very best for a speedy and complete recovery from her injuries. She will certainly be in my prayers.
