Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Car Accident Injures Two Children

Two children ages 6 and 10 have suffered critical injuries as a result of a Los Angeles car accident after their vehicle was struck by an SUV at a Bellflower intersection. According to an Associated Press news report, the SUV was stolen in Torrance and the driver refused to stop at a sobriety checkpoint in Long Beach the morning of October 18, 2009.

The SUV then drove through the checkpoint and caused a three-car crash in Bellflower. Police say two cousins were injured as a result and were taken to a neighboring hospital in critical condition. The three men in the stolen SUV fled the scene of the crash, but were arrested shortly afterward. The 19-year-old driver has been charged with hit-and-run driving causing death or injury. Two others were held for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

My heart goes out to these two young children and their families for the pain and suffering they must be going through. I wish these two children the very best for a quick and complete recovery. They will certainly be in my prayers.
