Orange County Car Accident Involves Rollover

One person was hospitalized with injures in an Orange County car accident after an SUV overturned in a single-car accident, The Orange County Register reports. The car accident reportedly occurred on August 10, 2009 when the Dodge Durango hit a tree in the center divider on Edinger Avenue between Brookhurst and Euclid streets. The Dodge SUV flipped on to its roof. The SUV’s driver sustained injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

My heart goes out to the victim of this Fountain Valley car accident. I wish the injured driver the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.

Rollover Car Accidents Can Be Deadly

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), four fatalities and 476 injuries occurred in Fountain Valley as a result of car accidents. In Orange County as a whole, 178 deaths and 14,185 injuries were reported in 2007 involving car accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), about 10,000 people die each year as a result of rollover accidents in the United States. Rollover accidents can be deadly in a number of SUVs, because of defective design that tends to tip the vehicle over even at low speeds. Many brands of SUVs also have weak roofs that results in roof crush during a rollover accident causing severe injuries such as spinal cord or traumatic brain injury to the vehicle’s occupants.

In this particular case, there is not much information about how or why the driver of the Dodge lost control of the SUV. Of course, this car accident may have been the result of driver error or negligence. But in any car accident, you cannot rule out factors such as a defective auto product, dangerous roadway conditions or the involvement of another vehicle. In fact, based on a comment to this news article from a witness to the crash, it appears there may have been another car that cut off the SUV first.

Orange County Car Accident Lawyer

The victim in this case would be well-advised to seek the counsel of an experienced Orange County personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all aspects of this case and determine if there was any negligence or wrongdoing involved. If this accident or serious personal injuries were caused by a vehicle defect, the auto maker could be held liable. If another motorist is found to be at fault here then, he or she should be held accountable for the injuries and damages caused.

One response to “Orange County Car Accident Involves Rollover”

  1. I love to read such informative articles. It is good to know what went wrong in which part of the world.. even in distant places, where we do not ever plan to physically visit, we visit there virtually and analyse the complete scene. Thanks for this piece of information to add to my experience! To share my other experiences too, recently, I have come across an article on how efficiently law firms get you the justice, which otherwise, sometimes, gets next to impossible. While reading, I realized how important it is to contact a lawyer whenever you get stuck with any legal related issues. And a family lawyer does not in any way decreases the importance of keeping an international law firms directory handy.
