Jahrick Williams, 27, of Lancaster was killed in a watercraft accident at Silverwood Lake after the personal watercraft he was riding collided with a boat. According to a news report on Victorville News’s website, the incident occurred the morning of July 8, 2017. San Bernardino County Coroner’s officials said lifeguards patrolling the water saw the collision and called paramedics. Williams was transported to the marina where he was pronounced dead. The California State Parks Police is investigating the collision.

Eliseo Quiroz, 71, was killed in a Garden Grove bicycle accident after a car struck him the afternoon of July 3. The Orange County Register reports that the incident occurred in the 12700 block of Buaro Street. When officers arrived at the scene, Quiroz was trapped under a Hyundai Accent that had struck him. Officers and residents helped lift the vehicle and pull Quiroz out from underneath the car, which had crashed into two other parked vehicles.

Two children, ages 2 and 4, were injured in separate swimming pool accidents the afternoon of July 1, 2017, Orange County fire officials said. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, a 2-year-old boy fell into a backyard spa in a San Juan Capistrano home during a family party. Another child noticed the boy fall in. He was pulled from the water and given CPR. Officials said the boy was alert and crying when he was transported to a local hospital.

A horrific car accident in Yorba Linda fatally injured 38-year-old Donald Wall and his fiancé 40-year-old Danielle Velazquez. According to a CBS Los Angeles news report, the fatal incident occurred when the pickup truck the couple was traveling in went out of control, flew over a fenced dirt lot and crashed into a home. Three of six people in the home sustained injuries, but none were serious.

Wall’s family is saying that he was never a reckless driver and that it was very uncharacteristic of him to blow though a stop sign. The crash occurred barely a couple of block away from his home and he was quite familiar with the streets. A woman was killed in a three-car car accident in Tustin after her vehicle hit a truck and spun out onto oncoming traffic before hitting another car. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the night of May 23, 2017. Police say the driver of a Kia Spectra was traveling west along the 17200 block of Nisson Road and collided with a Dodge Ram truck that was stopped in the street waiting for a parking spot. Three people were injured in a car accident in Irvine that involved two vehicles early morning on May 14, 2017. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the injury collision occurred at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Culver Drive. It took firefighters 25 minutes to extricate a male driver trapped inside one of the cars. He was transported to an area trauma center for treatment of his injuries. His female passenger and the male driver of a second vehicle were also hospitalized with injuries. The nature and extent of their injuries is not known.

Six people were injured, one seriously, in South Los Angles car accident early morning on May 4, 2017. According to a KTLA news report, the crash occurred in the 1800 block of East Vernon Avenue. Police said the collision possibly occurred after a driver ran a red light at an intersection. Six people were injured, including five occupants of one car who were transported to an area hospital. All were listed in critical condition. The sixth person, the driver of the other car, was transported to a local hospital, was listed in stable condition. A 16-year-old girl was reported to be in grave condition. No arrests or citations were reported. The collision is still under investigation.

Ciara Smith, 13, of Redondo Beach was killed in a bicycle accident after the bike she was riding was struck by a bus on a busy roadway. According to a City News Service report, the incident occurred the evening of May 5, 2017 at the northwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Knob Hill Avenue. Officials say the girl was riding her bicycle with a friend when she traveled into the roadway on Pacific Coast Highway and was struck by the southbound bus. The girl’s friend was uninjured. A man suffered life-threatening injuries in an Anaheim motorcycle accident. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the major injury collision occurred the night of February 13, 2017 on Lincoln Avenue near Empire Street. When responders arrived at the scene, they found a seriously injured man and took him to an area hospital. Officials said the motorcyclist was in “extremely critical condition with life threatening injuries.” The driver of the car, a Honda Civic, was uninjured. She remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Officials do not suspect the involvement of alcohol or drugs in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
