Ventura Pedestrian Accident Statistics

What Caused This Injury Accident?
Based on this news account, investigators will have to determine if the car’s driver failed to yield the right-of-way to the pedestrian while exiting a private driveway. According to California Vehicle Code Section 21804 (a) “The driver of any vehicle about to enter or cross a highway from any public or private property, or from an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all traffic.” Vehicles entering traffic “shall continue to yield the right-of-way to that traffic until he or she can proceed with reasonable safety.”
In this particular case, if it is determined that the driver was at fault, then, she can be held liable for the injuries and damages caused. Injured victims in such cases can seek compensation from the at-fault party for medical expenses, lost wages, cost of hospitalization, rehabilitation and other related damages. If a dangerous condition existed on the private property, then the property owner can also be held liable. Pedestrian accident victims would be well advised to contact an experienced Ventura personal injury lawyer, who will stay abreast of the official investigation and ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.
