Riverside Car Accident Injures Five

A rollover accident in Riverside left five people injured the afternoon of May 26, 2010. KPSP news reports that the accident occurred on the 10 Freeway in Indio after a car’s tire blew out and the driver lost control. The car overturned on the freeway and five occupants were trapped inside. Firefighters had to rescue them out of the vehicle. One victim was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. Others suffered moderate injuries. Officials are trying to determine the cause of the crash.

My heart goes out to the injured victims in this accident. I wish them the best for a complete recovery.

Riverside Car Accidents

According to California Highway Patrol’s 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were four fatalities and 221 injuries involving car accidents in Indio. In Riverside County as a whole, 220 people died and 8,561 were injured as a result of car accidents during the same year.

Auto Product Defects

In this particular case, the important question to ask is whether an auto product defect – specifically a tire defect, caused the accident. If that was the case, the auto maker or the manufacturer of the defective tire could be held liable. In such cases, it would be a good idea for injured victims and their families to preserve the vehicle in its current crashed condition here, as well as the tires, so they can be thoroughly examined by an expert for malfunctions, defects and other evidence.

  1. Leonard Gutierrez says:

My name is Leonard Gutierrez. I am now 15 years old and turned 15 years old 4 days after the accident. I was involved in the accident on May 26, 2010 along with my 2 cousins, aunt, and uncle. It was really hard for all of us to recover after this tragic event. My aunt, who was hospitalized for multiple weeks, was not only watched over by our Lord, but she was blessed by everyone’s prayers and blessings. She was seriously injured and had to be air-lifted to a hospital. I never realized how much everyone prayed for my aunt and how much God was fighting for her to give her her life back. I not only want to thank God for his miraculous miracle, but I sincerely want to thank everyone who prayed, visited my aunt during and after she was hospitalized, and everyone who supported my cousins and uncle as this was very hard for them. My aunt fought with God for her life and God held her hand throughout the battle. She never gave up and she’s by far the strongest woman I’ve come across in my life. Again, I sincerely appreciate all of the support, blessings, and prayers that were bestowed upon all 5 of us. With Love, God Bless.
