According to a Bay City News report, the injury pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of Market and O’Farrell streets the afternoon of February 25, 2011. The woman was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening head injuries. The driver who hit her fled the scene of the accident.

Leaving the Scene of Car Accident
Based on this news report, it appears that the woman was walking at an intersection when the Ford Explorer struck her. The driver, after hitting and seriously injuring this woman, left her lying on the street to die! This is an appalling act of cruelty and heartlessness, which is completely unacceptable.

California Vehicle Code Section 20001 (a) states: “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”
