Three occupants of a Honda were killed and a six-year-old boy injured in a Los Angeles car accident that was caused by a suspected hit-and-run driver. According to CBS Los Angeles, the fatal hit-and-run car accident occurred at an intersection in Vernon the night of December 10, 2010. The Honda was crossing the intersection of Alameda Street and Vernon Avenue when it was struck by a Dodge pickup truck. Three people in the Honda were killed. The six-year-old boy, also an occupant of the Honda, has been hospitalized with injuries that are described as not life-threatening. The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene, but was arrested shortly afterward.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the victims of this tragic hit-and-run car accident. My thoughts and prayers are also with the young victim as he heals from his injuries.

Hit-And-Run Car Accidents
It is unclear at this time what may have caused this tragic street intersection accident. Police do know that the driver of the pickup left the scene of the car accident. California Vehicle Code Section 20001 (a) states: “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”
I’m glad that this hit-and-run driver was arrested and taken off the street. It’s hard to understand why a driver would leave three critically injured victims and an injured child on the roadway and flee the scene without stopping to help the victims. Leaving the scene of an injury car accident is inhumane, irresponsible and illegal. I truly hope this individual is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
