Woman Killed in Tustin Car Accident

A woman was killed in a three-car car accident in Tustin after her vehicle hit a truck and spun out onto oncoming traffic before hitting another car. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the fatal crash occurred the night of May 23, 2017. Police say the driver of a Kia Spectra was traveling west along the 17200 block of Nisson Road and collided with a Dodge Ram truck that was stopped in the street waiting for a parking spot. The crash caused the Spectra to spin across the road and collide into a Kia Forte that was going east on Nisson Road at the intersection of Pasadena Avenue.

Ongoing Investigation

The driver of the Kia Spectra was treated at the scene for serious injuries and was later transported to a local hospital where she died. The drivers of the other vehicle suffered injuries that were not life threatening. Police don’t believe alcohol or drugs were factors in this collision. No arrests or citations were reported. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family members and friends of the woman who was killed in this car accident. We also wish those who were injured the very best for a speedy and complete recovery.

What Causes This Fatal Crash?

Based on this news report, it is unclear as to what caused the driver of the Spectra to strike the stopped vehicle. Police have said they don’t believe alcohol or drugs were factors. There are still a number of questions here. Did excessive speed play a part here? Did a vehicle defect or mechanical malfunction cause or contribute to this fatal crash? Was the Dodge Ram truck stopped in an unsafe location on the roadway, which made it difficult for the Spectra to see the vehicle? We trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.

Fault and Liability

In cases where negligence or wrongdoing is involved, families of deceased victims can file what is known as a wrongful death lawsuit seeking compensation for damages such as medical and funeral costs, lost future income, pain and suffering and loss of love and companionship. Victims or families of victims in such cases would be well advised to seek the counsel of an experienced Orange County personal injury lawyer who will stay abreast of the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.
